Set in the early 1800's, Katherine is trying to keep her parents' farm of Lipizzaner horses maintained by herself; her parents were tragically killed in a carriage accident a few years ago. Her sister, Claire, is at a finishing school for women. A sudden visit from a ruthless cousin turns up with selfish motives in mind... to get his hands on Katherine's inheritance and take over the prized horse farm. Katherine finds herself running for her life and is in a horrible carriage accident. Presumed dead, she is found by a loving Christian family who take her in; but can she trust them? She feigns amnesia and tries, but soon her lies catch up with her. She falls in love with the son, a British spy; but no one knows of his clandestine work, for he is trying to catch a horse thief.
This story is very spell binding; hard to put down and ends up with some unexpected twists. The chapters are a bit long, but once you start the story, time disappears as you are drawn into it. Romance, British etiquette, espionage, wicked plots, action, and spiritual encouragement are all found in this "must-read" first book. The second book, "Reclaiming The Spy" will be released August 29th of 2023, but can be pre-ordered on Amazon.ca. I highly recommend this book. I have already pre-ordered the second one. ENJOY~!

Lorri Dudley's comments on Amazon.ca about why she writes:
"Why I write...
I believe readers should be led on a heart journey. Romance should allow for an escape from everyday life. It should also lead us to a better understanding of the human condition and how God views us. I believe readers, like the heroines and heroes of stories, are not static creatures and can discover different aspects of themselves through empathizing with characters' comical mishaps and dramatic misunderstandings. I believe romance novels can depict a fallible human heart that can be made whole again by a merciful creator and remind us of the hope for the same."
Lorri Dudley has been a finalist in numerous writing contests and has a master's degree in Psychology. She lives in Ashland, Massachusetts with her husband and three teenage sons, where writing romance allows her an escape from her testosterone-filled household.
