Shadow Game by Shawna Coleing starts out with action as a ship with a mysterious cargo sinks into the depths of the ocean. Oliver, the CEO of the company that owned the cargo is devastated. Its loss has put innocent lives in danger...or has it? Had the cargo been what he thought it was, or were sinister forces at play? Oliver would not want to do anything to compromise his Christian convictions. Unfortunately, his board does not feel the same.
Enter Morgan. She is a young woman who has just spent the last three years in prison for a computer hacking violation that she did not commit. Her over-zealous friend, Camilla, is determined to help her get back into society. Not only that, but she is convinced that Morgan and Oliver would make a great pair, much to Morgan's disgust.
When Morgan illegally hacks into Oliver's company's computer she discovers a plot to assassinate him. What is she to do? If she tells him about it, she may end up back in prison. If she doesn't tell him, he will be dead before the next sunrise. What is a girl to do? Will he even believe her?
I enjoyed this book, which is the first in a series. I did find some parts a little slow, but it kept my interest right to the end. The interaction between the main characters as they distrust one another's motives and yet are forced to work together is interesting to watch. It is a good mix of suspense, action, romance and Christianity. It is good, clean fun and presents the truth of Christianity in an exciting story.
